Healthy brain function is important to aging well. And we can help you!
“The brain is without doubt our most fascinating organ. Parents, educators, and society as a whole have a tremendous power to shape the wrinkly universe inside their heads.” Lise Eliot
“Nigel was very informative, knowledgeable and passionate about improving brain functions and improving our lives! He is easy to listen to and has a great disposition. I recommend his workshop on Brain Training.” Lesley McNamara CGA
With more than ten years of experience Life Planning Matters has added a brain health awareness component for those who are 50 years and older and looking to live longer better.
North Americans spend countless hours and millions of dollars striving to stay in shape physically. With more people experiencing living into their nineties and beyond, what good is a physically able body if the mind has become weak and less responsive.
Only in the last decade has research indicated the extraordinary power and ability of the brain to change and for new connections and structures to form. But these only occur given the right stimulation and care.
Other research shows there is a positive impact in maintaining a healthy brain by:
-
Encouraging inter-generational acivities in community
-
Maintaining spiritual and purposeful awareness
-
Choosing the right foods
-
Enjoying planned physical activities
With so much being achieved, published and innovated it is increasingly difficult for many to follow these developments and implement meaningful strategies.
Our purpose is to be informative advocates for and a conduit to the best knowledge and resources for maintaining and increasing cognitive capacity and to delay the potential for cognitive decline as long as possible.
Healthy Brain Matters also provides the opportunity for siblings to help maintain their parents’ cognitive capacities, lessen mental decline and dependence.
